Last year, the community group Helping Oughtibridge, Worral, Wharncliffe and Wadsley Park Locals (HOWWL) made Christmas miracles come true for over 80 families in the area by gifting turkeys to low-income families.

This year, HOWWL are hoping to go one step further and raise £1,000 to fund turkeys for families of children who receive free school meals and those who have been severely affected by COVID-19 – and Erris Homes were only too happy to help!

After hearing about the group’s fundraising efforts, which will support families local to our Cloverleaf Court development in Wharncliffe Side, we were only too happy to support the cause with a £250 donation to help them reach their fundraising target.

Nick Ollis (pictured, right), sales manager at Erris Homes, presented HOWWL member Bethany Rees (pictured, right) with a cheque at our Cloverleaf Court development last week.

“As much as we want our customers to have a fantastic Christmas in their new homes, we do recognise that other families aren’t as fortunate, and we always try to help the communities local to our developments where possible,” he said.

“HOWWL are a fantastic community group, and we are thrilled to be able to support them as they spread Christmas joy throughout Sheffield.”

The turkeys will be delivered to families in need on Thursday 23rd December, meaning there is still time to donate and help a family in Sheffield have a magical Christmas! Take a look at the group’s GoFundMe page here.

We hope everyone at HOWWL, and the local Sheffield community, has a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year!
